Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are

Darling Mellow (darlingmellow.co.uk) is a UK-based website providing home education guides, interactive tools, digital products and a paid membership. You can contact us at mellow@darlingmellow.co.uk. Our trading name and postal address are available on written request.

2. Our content is information, not advice

Our guides, tools and generated documents provide general information about UK home education, family life and related topics. They are not legal, financial or medical advice, and they are not a substitute for advice about your individual circumstances. Anything to do with the law, your rights or your money should be confirmed against the live official guidance on GOV.UK or legislation.gov.uk, or with a qualified professional, before you act. Our mental health and wellbeing writing is lived experience, not clinical guidance; if you are struggling, please speak to your GP or a service such as Samaritans (116 123).

We fact-check our guides against primary sources and show the date each was last reviewed, but the law and official guidance can change at any time, and we cannot guarantee that every page is complete, current or error-free at the moment you read it.

3. Digital products and delivery

Our paid products are digital content (downloadable and online materials). Delivery is immediate: after payment you receive access straight away, on screen and by email.

4. Cancellation and refunds

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you normally have a 14-day right to cancel an online purchase. For digital content, that right ends once supply begins with your express consent. By purchasing, you consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right to cancel once access is provided.

This does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015: if digital content is faulty, not as described, or does not do what we said it would, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund. If anything is wrong with a purchase, email us and we will put it right.

5. The Mellow Home Ed Club (membership)

The Mellow Home Ed Club is a monthly subscription billed through Stripe. You can cancel at any time using the manage-subscription link in your emails or by contacting us; cancellation stops future payments and your access continues to the end of the period you have paid for. We do not part-refund the current month. Prices and what is included may change; we will tell members in advance of any price change taking effect.

6. Licence for purchased materials

Purchased and free downloads are for your personal, non-commercial use within your own family. You may print and copy them for that purpose. You may not resell, republish, share publicly or redistribute them.

7. Affiliate links and advertising

Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. They are disclosed on the site, and our editorial and affiliate policy explains how we choose and review what we feature.

8. Copyright

All content on this site is our property or used with permission. You may not reproduce it without permission, beyond brief quotation with credit.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, the site and its free content are provided as general information, and we are not liable for losses arising from reliance on them, for the actions of third parties we link to, or for events outside our reasonable control. Our total liability in connection with a paid product is limited to the price you paid for it.

10. Your data

How we handle your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

11. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest revision.
